Every February, says Hallmark Cards, 192 million Valentines Day cards are exchanged, making Valentines Day the second-most popular greeting-card-giving occasion.
There is much mystery surrounding the original St. Valentines. The Catholic Church recognizes no less than three different Saints named Valentine or a variation thereof. However, regardless of the origins, everybody knows what Valentines Day is for; greeting our sweethearts. Moreover, if Valentines Day is coming, not to worry, the vast majority of Valentines Day cards and gifts are bought at the last moment. So what are you going to do for the next Valentines Day? I think that men and woman alike have trouble in choosing the right remembrance be it a card or a gift for Valentines Day.
You want it to be something special but then again, sometimes Valentines Day gifts are given to only potential sweethearts. That is when you can run into trouble. You want it to be nice but not too nice a Valentines Day item.
One of the best things that both a man and woman can do for another on Valentines Day is to eat together. It is special even if the relationship is new or platonic. Valentines Day is not just for lovers only. Most restaurants have special Valentines Day menus than can be a lot of fun. Remember the heart shaped pizzas that one company makes? Fortunately now days, Valentines Day gift specialists exist. You can give them a little information about your favorite valentine and they will come up with a Valentines Day gift that you might not have thought about. Many of these companies focus on the unusual and that way you make your Valentines Day sweetie feel very important. Of course, the key to gift giving for every occasion and maybe particularly Valentines Day is to get the person something they would never buy for themselves. We all have things that we want but think it is too foolish, expensive, or extravagant to buy for ourselves.
In addition, it does not have to be a budget burden. Just think of a Valentines Day gift that you would never get for yourself. Then think about it from the other person’s point of view. You will never go wrong with your Valentines Day remembrance that way.
And ladies, do not be shy. There are 120 single men who are in their 20s for every 100 single women of the same ages. However, at an older age, the ratio changes. There are 33 single men age 65 or older for every 100 single women of the same ages. This means for Valentines Day you need to remember your sweetheart also. |
